WELCOME TO HONG KONG - DID YOU TRAVEL FAR?

I flew in from Shropshire, England, where I stayed at an independent co-educational, boarding school founded by Royal Charter in 1552. Named after one of the most prominent graduates, I was made to feel very welcome on arrival and am delighted to be here.

WHY DID SHREWSBURY STUDENTS DECIDE TO ELECT A CORGI AS THEIR NEW MASCOT?

Not only am I pretty adorable, but I have a strong and lasting connection to the royal family and therefore the United Kingdom and Shrewsbury School. Queen Elizabeth II has shown a particular fondness: we are a happy, intelligent and playful breed.

WHAT HAVE YOU BEEN UP TO SINCE YOU LANDED?

I’ve thoroughly enjoyed meeting students, parents and staff and have recently returned from a series of visits to Kindergarten partners in the Tseung Kwan O region. You can learn more about my adventures so far and all those to come on our social media platforms using the hashtag #SHKDarwin.

“The selection of a school mascot is no simple undertaking - thank goodness for the guidance and wisdom of the School Council, who drew from an exceedingly long list of suggestions to find a solution that affirms a connection with both our royal foundations and most highly celebrated alumnus.”
