A Shrewsbury Story: Hwabeen and Sangha's Family

Keen to learn more about our incredible community, we speak to a Shrewsbury family every month to find out about their journey, their aspiration and their hopes for the future. This month is the turn of Hwabeen and Sangha’s family - this is their story:

“Hwabeen joined Shrewsbury in the third term of the founding year. We had just relocated from Korea and Hwabeen’s English proficiency was still very limited, but the staff here saw her potential immediately and her younger brother joined a year later. Both now speak fluently and with great confidence.”

“Facilities and mountainside setting aside, the care exhibited to us on arrival assured me that Shrewsbury was our school. The school team, our Class Representative and the Shrewsbury Parents Association all played their part - as did our daughter’s peers. We were all made to feel incredibly welcome.”

“Hwabeen and Sangha love reading. They spend a lot of time in the library, borrowing, reviewing and recommending books. The Librarian has been exceptionally helpful and we have borrowed from the school collection as a family too. We are so proud to be Shrewsbury parents and delighted that our children enjoy such a varied time at school.”

“Hwabeen and Sangha enjoy spending time together at the weekend. We particularly enjoy hiking the mountains in Hong Kong, our interactions with the local wildlife and the beautiful views they offer.”
