A Shrewsbury Story: Rockie's Family

Keen to learn more about our incredible community, we speak to a Shrewsbury family every month to find out about their journey, their aspiration and their hopes for the future. This month is the turn of Rockie's family - this is their story:

“Rockie joined Shrewsbury almost three years ago. We were initially drawn to the school facilities and the incredible range of opportunities they support for even the very youngest children. As we explored further, the dedication of staff and the engagement of students became a considerably more significant factor. We felt as though we belonged and knew that this was the school for us.”

“When we arrived in Hong Kong, temporary school closures were commonplace. While delighted to have seen life return to normal this year, we will never forget the support provided to us at the time. Effective communication has been a common feature, as has the availability of school leaders - they appreciate the challenges faced by parents and demonstrate an outstanding knowledge of every child.”

“Rockie has flourished at Shrewsbury. His interests are broad and varied and his manner is confident and respectful. He particularly enjoys Chinese lessons and benefits enormously from the opportunity to explore Chinese culture. The running of a traditional market for Chinese New Year proved a particular highlight.”

“We love to hike. We made it to the summit of Lion Rock earlier in the year and are now working through the four sections of the Hong Kong trail. We are also regular visitors to theme parks, museums and the playground, often with Rockie’s friends.”
