Curriculum
Shrewsbury International School Hong Kong is committed to the provision of a unique range of opportunities and experiences to children between the ages of 3 and 11. A British International School, we align closely with the English National Curriculum and the Early Years and Foundation Stage Framework and further supplement through an ambitious and intertwined specialist programme of study to include Chinese language, Music, Performing Arts, Physical Education and Aquatics classes.
Developed especially to meet the needs of our talented, multi-lingual, international student body, our programme of study has been designed to inspire, enthuse and enthral on the understanding that happy children learn best. Our curriculum equips and enables.
CURRICULUM PHASES
The Curriculum is arranged into three phases:

- The Early Years phase is made up of Nursery and Reception Classes - students are aged between 3 and 5.
- Key Stage 1 is made up of Year 1 and Year 2 Classes - students are aged between 5 and 7.
- Key Stage 2 is made up of Year 3, Year 4, Year 5 and Year 6 Classes - students are aged between 7 and 11.
CURRICULUM ARRANGEMENT
We offer a thematic programme of immersive and interconnected units of learning. Lessons are designed and taught by an exceptionally talented team of highly qualified teachers. While Class Teachers are responsible for the vast majority of subjects, Chinese language, Music, Performing Arts, Physical Education and Aquatics are taught by a specialist teaching team able to offer age and domain specific expertise.
