Chinese New Year
With a commitment to the Chinese language, literacy and culture embedded within the curriculum at Shrewsbury, the marking of Chinese New Year provided a unique opportunity for community members to celebrate the arrival of the Year of the Snake.

Each of the twelve zodiac signs brings its own unique set of qualities. Paired with one of the five elements (gold, wood, water, fire, earth) each year, the interactions they share are believed to shape the natural world. The Wood Snake is understood to be charming, intelligent and creative.
Shrewsbury students have marked the season through participation in a range of activities, to include red packet decoration, traditional craftwork and attendance at a flower market hosted by parents. Celebrations culminated in a breathtaking presentation in the Auditorium.
